Ross Elementary School Shows How To Unveil A Mascot

Case Study
Engaging The Crowd Before The Mascot Reveal
Mascots can be an effective tool to connect with children of younger ages. It is therefore a perfect fit to invest in a mascot for an elementary school. Ross Elementary School shared their story of how they unveiled their mascot at their school by engaging the children beforehand and including them in the ‘unveiling’ process.

About The Project | The Design
As with every project, Ross Elementary School requested a free quote explaining their wishes. They wanted to replace their old mascot which was too hot to wear in Texas. Our design team created a design based on their wishes. Ross Elementary School requested a bird mascot which is furry and contains the school colors black and red. After approval of the design, the production team started the creation of their bird mascot. Due to the great planning of our project manager and production team, we were able to ship out the mascot right before the grand opening of the school in October 2023.

HOW DID ROSS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL UNVEIL ITS MASCOT?
The elementary school succeeded in creating an exciting ‘unveil-process’ of the mascot. They created a huge egg in a nest and asked the children to guess what was in it. The kids were beyond excited and expressed guesses such as ‘a baby of pregnant teachers’, ‘the principal’s grandbaby’, ‘dinosaurs’, ‘unicorns’, or even ‘a big baby roadrunner’. They let the winner of the student’s guesses tell the school what was in the egg at the school announcement.
Afterward, they started a penny vote fundraiser for the school principal’s fund. This covers the cost of lunch for children who do not have the money. The kids could vote on one of the three names: Rocko, Remi, and Ranger. The school raised $400 and the name Remi won!
The school then sent out water bottle stickers of their logo and a coloring sheet. A digital ‘happy birthday’ sign was created for the kids to be put up at the unveiling.
Finally, the day came! At the ‘Fun Run’, Remi was unveiled and the children welcomed the mascot by holding up their coloring sheets saying: “Welcome to Ross!”
