A Mascot That Rallies the Crowd
When Hungarian football club DVTK set out to introduce a new mascot, they were looking for more than a character. They were creating a new symbol of identity, spirit, and fan connection. The club envisioned a fearless knight who would become the heart of match days, someone who could bring joy to young supporters while also embodying the strength and tradition of the team.
After an adventurous journey, the knight officially arrived in Diósgyőr, signed his symbolic contract, and immediately got to work. His mission is clear: to unite generations of fans, energize the stadium, and represent the DVTK lifestyle with pride.

About The Project | The Design
The process began with a community-wide call for name ideas. By the deadline, 56 fan suggestions had been received. From these, four were shortlisted, and eventually the name György Diós was chosen. This bold and noble title suited the character perfectly and made the project truly collaborative. Supporters had a hand in shaping the identity of their new mascot, deepening their connection with the final result.
With the name confirmed, we moved into the design phase. DVTK wanted a knight who was both heroic and approachable—a character who could charge into the spotlight before kickoff and still kneel for a handshake or photo with a child. The final concept captured this vision: a costumed figure in classic red-and-white armor, full of character, movement, and pride.
Once the design was finalized, we brought the mascot to life through expert craftsmanship. Every element, from the helmet to the cape, was carefully constructed to ensure durability, comfort, and crowd appeal. The result was a mascot costume ready for action on and off the pitch.
A Mascot On and Off the Field
György Diós now plays a central role on match days. Just before kickoff, he gallops in front of the Sunny Side stands carrying a flag or sword, rallying the crowd and building excitement. Throughout the game, he engages with young fans for handshakes, high-fives, and photos, creating memorable moments for supporters of all ages.
His role extends beyond the stadium. György Diós regularly appears at the DVTK Arena and is expected to visit schools, events, and youth programs in the future. These community appearances help bring the Diósgyőr lifestyle to life outside of match days and allow the mascot to build lasting relationships with young fans throughout the region.
