For 2023 Infotopics | Apps for Tableau decided to join and sponsor the large Tableau Conference in Las Vegas. With a high investment in exhibition space, travel costs and a large team on location they had to come up with a way to grab the attention of as many potential clients as possible.
The solution – Bringing the brand mascot to life
The pink T-Rex Vizzy plays a crucial role in Infotopics | Apps for Tableau’s branding and appears digitally on their website, in product videos as well as their social media channels. The team was convinced that a large, pink dinosaur mascot at the trade show would grab the attention of many visitors and could serve as an icebreaker to start a conversation with their potential customers.
How Promo Bears delivered the right mascot costume for Infotopics | Apps for Tableau needs
Infotopics | Apps for Tableau reached out to Promo Bears to discuss the possibility of bringing their existing brand mascot to life. The T-Rex mascot costume had to be attention grabbing but at the same time easy to transport in order to take it to trade shows around the world.
Together we decided to realize the project as an inflatable mascot costume. The main benefit: A large, attention-grabbing mascot costume at the trade show that can be deflated for transport to fit into a regular suitcase. In addition, the airflow and light weight of the costume make it very comfortable to wear and enabled the company to use it non-stop at the trade show. Three mascot actors were on the floor constantly in shifts of 1 hour each.
An incredible success – 450 quality leads in three days
At the Tableau Conference in Las Vegas, the pink T-Rex mascot exceeded expectations. Very quickly the fun mascot attracted large crowds of visitors to the Infotopics | Apps for Tableau booth. The sales team didn’t have to actively reach out to visitors passing by since everyone queued to take a picture with Vizzy. This lead the conversation with many valuable potential clients and partners and the team was able to capture more than 450 high quality leads.
